Sources of small breasted turkey are backyard systems in smallholder farms in western, parts of Nyanza region and across the boarder in Uganda.

Again as in most enterprises finding the market before rearing turkeys for commercial purposes is essential. Traditional markets for turkeys are mostly the local   markets, tourist hotels and super markets. It is important to note that the regional markets in east Africa are also a lucrative market for these birds. There is increased demand for these birds especially as they are more delicious than chicken. Therefore carefully planned investment in this enterprise is bound to realise substantial returns to household.
